![]() ![]() The Victory III-class Star Destroyer was designed to support larger Imperial vessels, such as Gauntlet-class Star Destroyers and formidable Executor-class Star Dreadnoughts. Also, the communications tower was moved to the inside of the bow, where it would be a much less tempting target. What made this addition to the Victory line of Star Destroyers interesting was that the port and starboard attachments had been removed. The storage bays carried enough armor vehicles to support a company of soldiers. The hangar bay was enlarged to carry three TIE squadrons, and an auxiliary hangar held an additional squadron. The shield generators on this model had been enhanced to provide a much larger power output also, the hull plating had been thickened, allowing it to take a severe punishment before giving in. It was first created in 5 ABY, to combat the fast-growing Rebel Alliance. ![]() ![]() The Victory III-class Star Destroyer was the successor to the Victory line of Star Destroyers. ![]()
