I honestly thought wildcards were supported in *nix. ![]() Note I have rebooted the machine completely and this issue is still not resolved. I also added 127.0.0.4 * to the above and it does not work either. So it seems /etc/hosts is working for SOME domains, but not all. Note that if you try ethical.healthcare, at the time of this post, you will find a parked domain (mine) which correctly resolves on my machine to my apache instance. The Hosts file (with no file name extension) is the file to which you add information about statically configured clients.' So, Id NOT expect Windows to ignore the Hosts file just because Hosts.ics is present. Nsswitch seems configured correctly: hosts: files mdns4_minimal dns myhostname When configuring hosts file as such: 127.0.0.1 localhostįacebook and microsoft still correctly resolve even through icmp services, even after a reboot. ![]()
